Frequently Asked Questions
Q.
Do you purchase body work tables and retrofit the transducers?
A. Inner Soulutions LLC constructs tables from the ground up in the US, with workmanship
and quality as a prime directive. The tables are specifically constructed
to stand up to the vibration inherent with vibroacoustic tables, as well
as weight (as in normal Body work tables). The tables are deeper than
normal Body work tables so that they can fold up with the transducers
in place.
We have found that when transducers are retrofitted to standard massage tables, the tables start to rattle and produce irritating sounds that accompany the tables vibration from the transducers. They also get quite "loose" from the vibrations.
We have been refining our tables over the years so that they hold up to the vibrations. If you are going to purchase a Sound Table, why not purchase one that is built for the purpose, especially if it is competitively priced and performs better than retrofitted models on the market.

Q. Do you offer financing?
A. We are a small business and do not offer financing.
We do accept MasterCard and Visa. We also allow a 2% discount for payments by check for Sound Tables, Sound Mats and Sound Chairs. The vast majority of our clients have made full payment at the time of their order. There are times that we will accept a down payment of 70% at the time of your order with the remaining 30% plus shipping costs due prior to our shipping your order. These options (check discount and down payment options) are not listed in our shopping cart. If you would like to take advantage of these options, please email or call (501-318-1412) to make arrangements.
Q. Are transducers like speakers?
A. Audio speakers are meant to produce sound.
They are made to produce sound pressure waves that move through the air and
that we hear and sometimes feel - such as subwoofers in cars with the volume turned way up.
A transducers primary function is to take the same audio input as a speaker and
turn it into physical vibration. Secondarily, sound is produced.
Some transducers produce very good sound and some produce lower quality sound.
Q. Do you set up your transducers "right - left" in your tables?
A. Generally, we do not. Since we custom build all of our Sound Tables, we have the ability to wire transducers in some of our tables for "right - left" if requested. I created a sound table with "left - right" vibration a number of years ago to test it. We did not find it to be an optimum vibration delivery method.
The vast majority of VAT researchers and therapists in the world are not followers of "right - left body entrainment" (as opposed to entrainment of brain waves). There is a great deal of independent research worldwide on the effects of sound frequencies (vibroacoustics) on the body. For more research info, click here.
Q.
Do the New Technology Transducers produce a full spectrum of sound?
A.
The New Technology Transducers produce a full spectrum of sound, but it's main purpose is
to be tactile, which it does very well with a range of 10 - near 1000 Hz tactile.
It's secondary purpose is to deliver sound throughout the spectrum over 20kHz. Our personal research indicates that the full frequency sound
is delivered better when left to headphones or external sound systems with speakers, such
as a surround sound system or stereo system with speakers positioned above and off
the table and centered on the head of the Tactile Sound
Table TM.
This arrangement provides a greatly enhanced sound experience, working
synergistically with the transducers.
Q. What are the New Advanced Technology Transducers?
A. These transducers are a new technology transducer on the market and produce excellent vibration and sound. They are capable of producing accurate vibration from below 10 to near 1000 Hz. as well as sound well over 20 kHz. The energy is delivered so cleanly that the brain interprets the stimulus as Sound, not Shaking™. We use two of these transducers on our Sound Therapy / Harp Tables. For the Sound Therapist, they are accurate in the 10 - 32 Hz range (and above) as we match them with an amp that will produce sound from 10 Hz on up.
For the Harp Therapist, they produce vibration from the low end on up near 1000 Hz. They also produce full spectrum sound.
Our standard folding Tactile Sound Massage Tables comes with one of the new technology transducer standard along with 4 of the older steel transducers.
We are now offering the Evolution Series Tactile Sound Massage Tables with 3 new technology transducers rather than the 5 mixed transducers on our standard model. The new technology transducers take our excellent standard Tactile Sound Massage Tables to the next level.
Q. Why use Transducers with such a great range of vibration?
Don't most sound tables use transducers that are effective just in the 20 - 100 hz range?
A. The work of James Gimzewski of UCLA, has shown that the cells of our bodies ’sing’ to each other, a form of intracellular communication. The song examples analyzed were all fairly mid-range in character, lying roughly in the range 100 to 1000 Hertz. ... I would say that if we wish to ‘feed’ our cells with sound, the important upper limit seems to end somewhere around 1000 Hz. For more on this, click here
Q. What is the difference between the Tactile Sound Massage Table and the Sound Therapy / Harp Therapy Tables?
A. Both types of tables produce excellent vibration and sound. Both types of tables can be used for massage, also. The Tactile Sound Massage Table has 5 transducers in it. Four of the transducers are steel transducers which have an effective tactile range of 20 - 100 Hz (very low end of the sound spectrum). These steel transducers are quite effective for vibration in the lower (20 - 100 Hz) frequency range, which is often found on music cds as well as in VAT frequencies. These steel transducers do not produce very good sound and we use low pass crossovers at the amp to limit the sound that is produced above their effective tactile range. The fifth transducer is a new technology transducer which adds a great deal of vibration in the high ranges up near 1000 Hz as well as producing good sound for the tables. The Sound package includes a 5 cd changer and headphones as well as two amps matched to the transducers that are
effective from 20 Hz up.
The Sound Therapy / Harp Therapy Tables do not utilize the 4 steel transducers, since the steel transducers are not effective below 20 Hz or above 100 Hz. Sound Therapists want accurate vibration and sound in the 15 - 32 Hz range so we use two advanced technology transducers in these tables. The new transducers are very smooth, quite powerful and accurate, so they are able to fill the tables with vibration. For Harp Therapists, The 4 steel transducers in our Tactile Sound Massage Tables would be almost wasted since harps produce very little sound in the steel transducer's effective range. The harps do produce quite a bit of sound in the new transducer's effective tactile range (10 - 800+ Hz), and they work very well with harps and many other musical instruments. The new technology transducer is also more costly than the other transducers. These tables include one amp that is effective from 10 Hz on up. Sound boards or other direct inputs are optional and available. A cd changer and headphones are not included, but are available.
Q. I am a bit confused, which table would be best for my needs?
A. We had a choice of either keeping everything very simple, ignoring new technology and just offering one unchanging product or embracing newer technology as it fits into and or improves our products. We and others feel that our standard Tactile Sound Massage Table has been the best on the market in it's price range. We chose to offer new transducers such as the new advanced technology transducers because they work extremely well for our products. They also cost more than the older transducers that we have been using. We have been creating the standard Tactile Sound Table for years. It works very well and it is affordable. It is arguably better than other sound tables in it's price range and we have been told that it is better than tables costing many times as much. But, for those of you that want more, we offer upgraded tables, such as the Evolution Series. We also offer the Basic Sound Table which uses the same low frequency transducers offered by many of our competitors.
If you have questions which are not answered here, please feel free to give us a call. We generally speak with the majority of our clients who order a table. We know it is a an investment and we also know Sound Tables. I am also known to ask you what you want to use your table or mat for and suggest the appropriate option and not necessarily the most expensive one. We are not in to the "hard sell". (501) 318-1412
Q.
Do you build tweeters or full range speakers into the table?
A.
Tweeters
or full range speakers are normally in enclosed speaker cabinets. Building these speakers into a table near your ears cannot give you
the quality of sound that headphones, stereo or surround sound speakers
properly placed can deliver, thus tweeters or full range speakers are
not built into these tables.
Q. Can I use an Ipod or MP3 Player?
A. Many people use an Ipod or MP3 player as the source for their Sound Tables, Mats or Chairs. I have found that when using one, a small headphone amplifier really helps. The audio output at the headphones on an Ipod is quite minimal, so one must raise the volume level output nearly all the way on the Ipod. This can create distortion from the Ipod as well as run down the the battery quicker - you have to recharge it more often. I have found an inexpensive unit, the "Boostaroo", that works very well with mp3 players and Ipods in this situation. They are powered by 2 AA batteries. Q. Can your tables be integrated into our stereo or surround sound setup?
A. Our tables are often integrated into a room with a stereo or surround sound system.
We are happy to share our experience to help you get the most from your setup.
Q.
Do you attach an amplifier to the underside of the tables?
A.
The amplifiers
are not attached to the bottom of our tables, as research has shown that the vibration
of being attached to the table greatly shortens the life of the amp, etc.
Our tables are powered by matched amplifiers which can be arranged away
from the table or on the floor under the table, depending upon individual
needs. They are connected to the tables via speaker wires with Neutrik "quick lock" connectors .
Q.
Do you use speakers, woofers or sub woofers in your tables?
A.
Speakers, woofers and sub woofers depend on sound air pressure to make vibration.
Have you ever heard a car with a loud stereo system coming down the street?
In order for the bass from woofers and subs to be felt inside the
car,
it's amplitude or loudness must be high enough to move the air.
The
transducers we use do not rely on sound air pressure to function,
they
transform the sound into physical vibration
which passes directly into the
diaphragms of the tables. It is very effective without the need for it to be very loud .
Q.
How loud are the transducers in your tables?
A.
The amplitude or loudness of the sound through the steel and new technology transducers
is comparable to normal background music in volume. The music or frequencies
do not need to be loud for the vibrations to fill the table, although
the new technology transducers can also be adjusted to be very loud. The Clark transducers tended to be louder than the new technology transducers at the same vibration level which we find to be one of the advantages of the new transducers.
Q.
Do your tables need a dedicated amplifier?
A.
The Tactile Sound Tables and Evolution Series Sound tables require 2 dedicated amplifiers (one stereo and one mono), much the same
as using a powered sub woofer in your surround sound system. The Basic Sound Tables, Sound Therapy / Harp Therapy Tables and Vibroacoustic Music Mats need one dedicated stereo amp. These dedicated amps allow the vibration to be adjusted in different parts of the tables.
Q. I have been on other sound tables that were very hard. Are your tables comfortable?
A. Yes, very comfortable.
Our tables have a two inch layer of firm foam and a one inch layer of soft foam wrapped on top of that. We have found that most people find it much easier to relax if they are comfortable.
Q. Do your offer memory foam?
A. Yes. We offer a 1" layer of memory foam which replaces the 1"top layer of regular soft foam. It adds the comfort of memory foam and lessens the vibrations of the tables very minimally. Our tables are very comfortable with our regular foam and have memory foam option. Initially I was reluctant to use memory foam, but after testing it, I found that the reduction in vibration transfer was very minimal.
Q. Do you offer user support?
A. Yes. Stephen is available by phone and email for questions
before and after you purchase your table. We have a Newsletter and Newsletter Archive in which
therapists from around the world share information on how they use the tables,
music selections, room setups, etc. as well as information on VAT therapy.
We are also working on a book that deals with using the Sound Tables.
Q. Do your Tables work with AVS (Light & Sound Machines)?
A. Yes. We have experimented with a Proteus and Audio Strobe interfaced into the Sound Table. It is very synergistic. The interface is not complicated or expensive. For more information on a Proteus and Thoughtstream GSR biofeedback , click here
For the best pricing and support on a Proteus or Thoughtstrem click here
We also offer the Sensorium, a state of the art device to mix the Vibration and Sound in your Table with Light Glasses and the Sound in Headphones. For more info, click here We have also had excellent feed back with
The Procyon Light & Sound Mind Machine
Q. How long will my table take to be made?
A. The tables are custom made in the US for each individual at this time. Depending on our production schedule, it is usually 5 - 6 weeks from your order to shipment. At the time of your order we will give our best estimate of shipping date. The Mats generally take 3 - 4 weeks.

Q. Do you import your tables from the Far East?
A. No. We custom build our tables here in Arkansas in the US. All of us that are involved in the production of the tables have been working with Sound and Energy Healing for years and our clients that are aware of energy appreciate that we finish wiring our tables in our Sound Healing room over a crystal grid and under our pyramid. These tables are produced from our hearts, as we are doing what we love. We have well created over 100 tables that are on five continents for a variety of clients from 5 star spas to grammy winners to private massage therapists to individuals who just want to be aided in stress or pain reduction ... and everyone in between.

Q. What is the diference between your Sound Tables and some of the others?
A. We custom build our Sound Tables here in the US. We use very expensive and accurate transducers (10 - nearly 1000 hz tactile and audible up to 20k hz) in our Evolution Series, Harp Series an Vibro Sound Mats. These new technology transducers require less power - more vibration with less sound, so that the sound levels can be very comfortable with very accurate frequency response. They also produce a smoother, incredibly relaxing vibration that we did not know possible before their introduction. The energy is delivered so cleanly that the brain interprets the stimulus as Sound, not Shaking™.
In our original "Tactile Sound Table" we used a Clark Transducer (20 - 800 hz tactile and audible up to 20k hz) along with four of the same steel transducers used by VibraSound and CNR (which retrofits commercial massage tables) . The Steel transducers - Aura, are a durable, inexpensive low frequency (20 - 100 hz) transducer. These steel transducers are the transducers we use in our
Basic Sound Tables. Somatron uses audio speakers that they have patented.
Since we custom build our products, we have the ability to meet our clients specific requests.
